
He discovers that corrupt police officers in Brazil are doing some criminal things. I think Max is a good role model because he is trying to save a girl most of the time. Max swears some when he's mad, but not as much as some of the other characters. There are side effects, the camera gets a little wobbly. Max actually decides to go sober later in the game. It's actually pretty sad, and makes the character very strong, in my opinion. This is because of the death of his family in the first game. In the beginning Max is addicted to painkillers, and alcohol. And there are topless dancers in the bar, but that's brief as well. There are people having sex in the background, but it's very brief. There's one cutscene when Max is walking into a bar/brothel. There's a few references to sex, but it may go over younger kids' head because they're words like "blowjob". While violence is strong, I think parents would be more concerned about the sex, drugs, and language. When Max kills the last bad guy, time slows down, so you see the bullets tear through your enemy. You can dodge bullets, and time slows down, so you can actually see bullets flying past you. I still highly recommend this game to anyone looking to be John Wick.

However, the cutscenes just bog the experience down so much. This is without a doubt my favorite third-person shooter. I don’t have a clue as to what Rockstar was thinking, but if you’re not patient, avoid this game. This makes replaying the game on newly unlocked difficulties a chore to do. You’d probably have enough time on some of them to go to the local McDonald’s order ice cream, wait for the machine to be repaired, drive home, and still only be half-way through the cutscene. The inability to skip certain cutscenes, and these cutscenes drag on and on. There is one HUGE flaw in this game that knocks 2 stars down for me. The presentation is slick, with very seamless transitions. The story is centered more on Max Payne and his experiences rather than the contracting thing on his own. Obviously, with the game taking place in South America, you can expect some bad stuff is going to go down with the family. The main protagonist, obviously Max Payne, is an ex-cop hired as a security contractor for a wealthy family in São Paulo. A violent and oddly satisfying matrix-style combat alongside a system which paved the way for games like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 make Max Payne 3 a very enjoyable experience. The closest you’ll ever get to a John Wick video game, except in this case John Wick is also addicted to painkillers and suffers from depression. The gunplay is satisfying and very revolutionary for its time. To put it upfront, Max Payne 3 is up there with the greats in terms of gameplay.
